Fantasy sports platform My11Circle has secured the title sponsorship for the the inaugural edition of Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2020 in a ‘multi-crore’ deal.

The deal is for a single season, Tournament Director, Ravin Wickramaratne confirmed, although there is no indication from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) or the tournament organisers Innovative Production Group (IPG) how much this deal would net.

“In a major boost to the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), My11Circle, one of the leading fantasy sports platforms in India, has come on board as title sponsor of the T20 Tournament in a multi-crore deal. With this new association, the T20 Tournament will now be called My11Circle Lanka Premier League,” an LPL media release stated.

“Fantasy sports is becoming the backbone of live sports sponsorship, and this collaboration with My11Circle shows that sports sponsorship is getting stronger in the Covid era. I am quite confident that with this partnership, LPL has the potential to become the second biggest sports league in South Asia,” said Director of LPL Mr. Sangeet Shirodkar

The competition starts on the 26th of November at Mahinda Rajapaksha International Cricket Stadium (MRIC) in Hambantota. It concludes on the 16th of December as Colombo Kings, Jaffna Stallions, Kandy Tuskers, Galle Gladiators, and Dambulla Hawks compete for the title.
